This landmark building, formerly the headquarters for Ports of Auckland and lately rebranded has undergone a major alteration and addition. The original roof was demolished, a new floor inserted and a new roof constructed tucking under the existing glass plant room. The design intent of the original building is respected but contemporary materials and detailing bring the building into the 21st century. The extra floor and new aluminium detailing enhance the building but in sympathy with the original. At a glance nothing seems changed. Leuschke Group were also responsible for the alterations and additions to the first three floors of the building, including the retail additions in 2001.
